Eternal Lines to Time, Death and Love

3rd October 2020 7pm - 9.30pm

This performance uses both music and dance forms alongside Shakespeare's sublime poetry to explore and express key themes centred on the nature of Love itself.

It's anguish, it's glorious manifestations, it's endless paradoxes, it's transcendent essence.

The full spectrum of love's possibilities is encompassed. From the darkest side of lust and carnality right through to it's most sublime and divine expression.

The sonnets are intermixed with brief scenes and speeches from his plays thematically intertwined. The music ranges from Brahms, the mystical music of Gurdjieff, Vedantic hymns through to folk rock and romantic ballads. Our wonderful Classical Indian dancer Arunima Kumar adds a further dimension in magnifying and illuminating the full range of emotions which the sonnets and play extracts embody.

O learn to read what silent love hath writ

To hear with eyes belongs to love's fine wit.
